As of about a month ago, my computer would just shut off with no BSOD. Like instant black screen after a while of playing certain demanding games with raytracing on. The error in event viewer is a a "Source: Kernel-Power, Event ID: 41, and Task Category: 63"

My specs
- GPU: 3070 -> 4070ti super
- PSU: 850 Gold -> RMX Series RM1000x
- MB: B650 Aorus Elite Rev 1.2
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16gbx2 DDR5 6000MHz
- CPU: AMD 7800x3d
- OS: Windows 11

What I've tried

1) Update gpu drivers
2) Change to a new GPU
3) Change to a new PSU
4) Factory reset
5) Updated BIOS
6) Uninstall graphic drivers with DDU and reinstalled them
7) Tried different outlets
8) Updated other drivers
9) Check temps but they're fine
10) Turned off fast boot*: This didn't fix the issue entirely but it seems like my PC takes longer to shut off than before
11) I've also stress tested my PSU, RAM, CPU, and GPU but nothing happens.
12) No crashdumps are generated regardless of their settings so I can't analyze them

Updated BIOS
For the sake of relevance, it's a good idea to mention the BIOS version you're on for your motherboard. Did you clear the CMOS after verifying your BIOS was flashed successfully? Ideally, you're advised to disconnect from the wall and display, then remove the CMOS battery, press and hold down the power button for 30secs to drain any residual power, then reseat the battery after 30mins.

CPU: AMD 7800x3d
How are you cooling the processor?

when playing demanding games
Please mention the titles that you've taxed the system with to recreate the issue.

Is it a thermal issue? What type of cooling are you using for the CPU. Raytracing can be very demanding on the system during intense gaming. Your PC is high end I am not understanding the shutdown issue. Your system should easily handle today's AAA games with raytracing on. Please respond to Lutfij as I respect their advice and expertise. Please provide your full hardware specs including cooling systems. I hope you can resolve the issue.

When I first built my AM5 system I was having similar crashes when gaming. My issue ended up being the RAM. I had the EXPO enabled in the BIOS to 6000MHz but was getting constant crashes. It wasnt until I updated the BIOS that finally fixed the issue. If you are still having trouble after updating the BIOS, have you tried the different EXPO RAM profiles? Will the games run ok if you disable the EXPO setting?

BIOS: I updated to FB3e from November 12, 2024. I'll try the CMOS thing when I can

CPU: It's Liquid cooling but from a stock Cyberpower PC. Here's temps on the CPU that were logged playing NBA 2k25 before my pc crashed. GPU if needed as well.

Demanding games: NBA 2k25 and the popular battle-royale made by Epic Games. Both are maxed out it. For some reason, saying the name of the latter game triggers the site's spam prevention

You're absolutely sure about the PCB revision for your motherboard, right?
BIOS: I updated to FB3e from November 12, 2024.

I don't see the BIOS version you've stated but when looking at the other PCB revision;
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B650-AORUS-ELITE-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios
there's a FB3e. If you're indeed on PCB revision 1.0, then you have one more BIOS version pending update. Flash to F32e and then clear the CMOS.

Again, we will need you to confirm the PCB revision number for your motherboard.

Yeah that title is very loved by spammers.

Apologies my specific motherboard is the B650 Aorus Elite AX (rev 1.2) and I've updated to FB3e. That said, I've done further logs of the CPU temps and found that during high-end gaming it does actually start hitting 90 degrees Celsius, despite what the other logs show, so I'm pretty sure that's the issue.

Ram doesn't have AMD's E.X.P.O advertised;
https://www.corsair.com/ww/en/p/ddr...u1UFSdfAaggXZ9SUNomJXRmQPkZqcVc#tab-techspecs
that's meant for Intel platform with XMP.

Case is not questionable at all but your cooling is. You're using the wrong cooler(likely a Coolermaster ML120R AIO) for your processor...and you've also paired that cooler's radiator with what looks like an uphere/asiahorse fan which aren't really good with static pressure, last I checked.

I didn't know about the RAM one. Would that also cause the crashes during demanding games? I've had the RAM for most of the year but this issue only arise about a month ago.

Yeah I figured the cooler would be a problem so I already ordered an AM5-compatible one.
