when i'm done gaming for the night i usually put my PC to sleep. then the next day i get on the PC wont boot. seems as if the power supply is dead. The motherboard light comes on but that is it. We did the paper clip trick nothing but if i wait a day and try to turn my PC on it boots right up as if nothing ever happened. The PC has never turn off while i was using it only when it was in sleep mode. kinda hard to find whats wrong when everything seems to be working fine.

Solution
Don't know if you have done this, but go to Control Panel>Power Options. Click 'Change plan settings', then open 'Change advanced power settings'. take a look at the following settings (and the settings I suggest are the ones that have eliminated most of my "sleep" problems) and try the settings I list:
In advanced power settings, click the blue text ' Change settings that are currently unavailable'.
Hard disk, turn off, Never
Wireless adapter settings, power saving, Max. perform.
Sleep, 1. sleep after : should agree with whatever time you have set, or set a time for auto sleep
2. Allow Hybrid sleep: On
3. Hibernate after: Never
4. (this one, for me, was the biggie) Allow wake timers...

4. (this one, for me, was the biggie) Allow wake timers: DISable
USB settings: USB selective suspend: Disabled
Power buttons and lid: Power button action, Shut down (Use the start menu to put it to sleep instead of this setting/button)
PCI Express: Link State Power Mangmt. : Off
Processor power management, System cooling policy: I have mine as Active, but I don't think it will make much difference as the BIOS usually controls cooling.
Display: Turn off, should indicate whatever you have set in the plan, mine currently is at 5 minutes.
Multimedia settings: When sharing media: I have mine at Allow the PC to sleep but I don't generally share any media
When playing video: Optimize quality.

I switch between Balanced and High Performance and had to change the advanced settings in each.
Hope this helps.
