Due to some performance issues i used the Windows 10 "reset my PC" in the recovery settings, decides to erase all my files as i don't need them. I have been researching and people say it shouldn't take a lot of time, but mine has been going on form at least 6 hours and it looks like it is stuck at 17%

I have a I7 7700Hq
8Gb RAM
Nvidia GEFORCE GTX 1050
2 Tb hdd

Solution
How much info was on the hdd? Since you reset it and wiped everything, it can take a long time to reset a 2tb hdd.

Is there activity on the hdd light on case? (assuming case has a hdd activity led) if its still flickering I wouldn't stop it. If its not doing anything, it could be frozen

I often find resets get broken and can go too far and wipe windows completely.

You might be better off fresh installing windows - On another PC, download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB (if you don't already have one)

change boot order in BIOS so USB is first, hdd second
boot from installer

when you reach the screen asking for licence, click "I don't have a key" and win 10 will continue to install and reactivate once finished

On the screen where you choose where to install win 10, if it gives you an error about GPT drives, delete all the partitions on the hdd and press next. If it still gives error, cancel out of the installer and restart PC and start installer again, it will accept next on that screen this time (some PC just need a restart here)

Solution
The HDD acitivity light is on and seems to flicker a tiny bit, i think i will let it continue and if it doesn't makes any progress until tomorrow i will follow your steps. (Oh and the HDD had approximately 800 GBS in use). I really appreciate your help.

Hi petrocinitomas, did your pc boot up after that? I have exactly the same specs as your pc and exactly the same issue and exactly the same amount of data as you. How many hours did it take to boot up?
