Recently, some of the games I've played have caused my PC to restart every time I quit out of a game. However, this has only been happening on more higher intensity games. Games like Overwatch on Ultra settings or Ghost Recon Wildlands on High settings have caused my computer to restart after quitting out of the game. To check if this was happening to all my games, I played some lower intensity games as well. It happens to them too.

These are my current specs for my PC

i5 4670K

Corsair H60 Liquid CPU Cooler

Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H ATX

G.Skill Ripjaws X Series (4x 4GB) DDR3-1600

Samsung Pro 840 128GB (mainly my OS drive)

WD Caviar Black 2TB

EVGA GTX 1070 8GB SC Gaming ACX 3.0

Corsair RM 750W 80+ Gold Certified

I have been trying to figure out what has been causing my computer to restart itself after quitting out of games. All my parts except the graphics card are about 3 years old.

I ran both scannow and chkdsk on my hard drives and no errors have come up. I should also add that there is no BSOD when my computer restarts.

if you reached that event log and decided that the power is the problem, the only culprit there is psu from what i usndertand

but if you put another psu and keeps happening, try to reinstall windows, it could be more related to a driver or a setting gone wrong in windows

the other part that could be misbehaving is the gpu

which one do you have?

I don't have any extra PSUs lying around to test with. Also, I have a EVGA GTX 1070 SC

and your psu should deliver enough juice for it

other than problems with ram or the windows installation itself, perhaps driver

well, i would try this, run memtest on the ram to discard problems on the ram

then using ddu to wipe the nvidia driver and reinstalling it, if none of that works, reinstall windows

if problem persists, try to use the gpu on another machine

your problem could be just related to a driver misbehaving or could go to the mainboard having issues handling the memory but most times when this happens, the game crashes weird, not finishes well and then crashes as you report, is a bit particular the problem i must say

It happened once again and I think it's the power strip that my PC and monitor are connected to. When my PC resets, my monitor resets as well. I'm guessing it's the power strip because if it was my PC, then wouldn't my monitor just say "no signal found"?

Why cant people [redacted] report after they made some changes on hardware how it did go, he makes a thread asks for peoples help, then leaves, and does not ujpdate how it did go, maybe others would [redacted] benefit from having your report you know.

First off, watch the language.

Second, individual posters have no requirement to come back to update people on their issue, and even if there was, it's certainly not for you to complain about them, reviving two ancient threads.

Third, if you have a problem with your PC, give your complete specs and a detailed description and history of the problem in your own thread. In the time you spent necroing two random threads with a very common symptom and very different specs, you could have provided information that would actually help someone fix your problem.
