Hello, I bought a new laptop a month ago. HP Envy x360. Windows 10 Home OS were already installed. So I just installed all other programs I need and started using it.

I noticed that sometime, maybe once in two days it restarts for no reason. I tried to reset power options to defaults, I also turned off automatic reboot after Windows updates, but the problem persists. Im not sure how can I identify what causes this behaviour. Can it be a hardware issue? How can I debug this?

Afraid I can't help you much, then. The hpdskflt message seems related to HP's disk shock protection. (It parks the drive in a safe position when it detects a fall or bump.) but is probably not related to the reboot problem.

The Kernel Power message indicates an unclean shutdown, perhaps from a power supply problem, but could also be caused by the recent Spectre patch or another hardware problem. Check for messages indicating a Minidump or Blue Screen, but I'm not the one to decode those.

You should start by looking at the "Windows Logs-System" category in Event Viewer. It should have events from the shutdown and restart process, some of which might enlighten you to the reasons why, especially events from User32, Kernel-Power, or other Kernel sources.

The speed of processor 0 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 10 seconds since the last report.

I noticed this error it is associated with kernel-Processor-power

Also 4sec after this warning I see this errror:

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160}
and APPID

to the user DESKTOP-5BP1REP\Tomas SID (S-1-5-21-3720333587-4106298047-1358123712-1001) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

I have that, too. My laptop does not run the CPU at full speed when it is on battery. I don't think it's related to your reboots.

I noticed one more, its Level is Critical, Source is Kernel Power, message is:

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Before that, 1sec before is an Error, source: hpdskflt, message is:

The description for Event ID 1001 from source hpdskflt cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
