Hello,
I upgraded my GPU recently. I had MSI gtx970 gaming 4G before. Now I have Asus ROG STRIX RTX 2070 OC.
After upgrading my GPU, my computer started to restart itself sometimes. There is no error, no blue screen, nothing. It just restart itself. There is nothing wrong when idle but when I play games it is different. Let me give some examples:
- I tried to FurMark couple times, pc restarted itself. After 1 hour I tried again, it ran for 10-15 min without any issues and didn't restart.(?)
- I used Total War Warhammer 2 in-game benchmarks, it restarted one time, it didn't other time, succesfully benchmarked.
- Played Rainbow Six Siege, For Honor for 3-4 hours with ultra settings, no restarts, everthing seems fine.
- I tried to play Wither 3 with ultra settings. Restarted after 2 min one time, other time I ran around and engaged combat for 5 min, it didn't restart but it was laggy sometimes.
And here is my specs:
- Processor: Intel Core i7-4790K
- Motherboard: MSI Z97-GAMING 5
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3-1600
- Graphics Card: Asus ROG Strix RTX 2070 8 GB ( MSI GTX 970 before upgrade)
- PSU: Corsair VS650(orange) 650W
Drivers up-to date. PC cleaned recently. New thermal paste on CPU. Temps seems fine. 50-65 C when played Rainbow Six Siege and For Honor for 2-3 hours.
My friends said my PSU is bad. I think of it first when this happened but I am no expert.
Any help is appreciated.
