PC Restarts on Certain Games

Ok this is driving me crazy, my pc is an i5 4590, asus z97m plus, amd r9 290, and 8gb ddr3, i can run crysis 3 and dragon age inquisition without problems, in fact just yesterday i played for like 4 hours dragon age inquisition without a single problem, i used the maximum settings to tax my pc and nothing went wrong, this discards problems with my psu or other hardware components. Yet in some directx9 games my pc restarts, no blue screen, no nothing, it just restarts. For example, Dark Souls, this game almost instantly restarts my pc, i also had a coupe of these restarts with evil within, although they were just a couple of times on the whole playthrough, while dark souls is unplayable. Any advice? Could my card have problems with directx9? I already updated everything including directx, drivers, net framework, windows and visual c.

First of all I don't know why you think this is a problem you have R9 290X which can be dedicated to 7GB, second it can run dx9 games you just have to roll back your driver or update.sometimes it might be the new driver.
