PC restarts randomly no BSOD

Hello,

I have a PC which used to work fine for over 1 year now with Windows 10 installed but now suddenly it restarts. Sometimes 2-3 times a days sometimes keeps restarting every 5-10 minutes or so whereas sometimes no restarts at all throughout the whole day

At first I thought RAM was faulty. I tried to run Microsoft ram test utility (mdsched.exe) and it said RAM is all fine.

What options do I have here to pinpoint the fault? Do you think the PSU may be faulty? Should I possibly buy a PSU or are there any exact steps to pinpoint the issue?

What is the PSU's brand and model? If it is a generic PSU or a low quality one, then I'd suspect the PSU first. It is quite common for piece-of-crap PSUs to fail shortly after the warranty is up, if not sooner for off-brands for which there is no cost-effective way to file a warranty claim.

It is Corsair VS 500 not a generic PSU. Is switch PSU worth an effort?

The VS series is among the worst in Corsair's lineup, along with the older CX/CXM variants. The good Corsair models are the RM(i), AX(i) and HX(i) series.

Thank you. Do you then think the PSU can be the fault? Is there any PSU tester like we have RAM testing utility?

The easiest way to find out if the PSU is causing your random restart issue is to swap it out with a known-good or at least better quality unit. If the problems go away, then you can be just about certain that it was the PSU. The only way to find out for certain without having to borrow or buy a new PSU would be to put the PSU through the ATX/Intel power specifications compliance test, but that is far too complicated and expensive to bother with unless you happen to work somewhere where you can access the necessary lab equipment.

Was the power supply the culprit? I believe I'm going through a similar issue. When my PC restarts the screens just go black and then it will either restart or just stay running and I'm unable to restart it.
