Specs:
-Asus z97-pro (wifi ac)
-i7 4790k
-Gigabyte G1 gaming GTX970
-Corsair Vengeance 32 GB ram
-Cooler Master G750M PSU
-Windows 8.1
PC was built in february
BIOS and GPU drivers are up to date, and I haven't OC'ed anything.
Problem:
Whenever I play games my PC suddenly restarts without BSOD. This happens to all the games I have played for the last month or so.
It usually happens when I interact with something in the game like picking up loot, switching wepons, quicksave etc.
Sometimes I can play for an hour, and sometimes for 3 minutes or so.
The games I have played in this period: 7 days to die, trackmania2 stadium (even on medium settings), Fallout 4 and Battlefield Hardline (to check if it was a Steam problem)
I have checked event log after it restarts, and I see two reccuring problems.
Of course it is the Kernel-power ID 41, which indicates that the system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first.
The other one is Kernel-PnP ID 219 with the message: "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ACPI\PNP0A0A\2&daba3ff&1."
Troubleshooting (not in any particular order):
I have updated my BIOS, GPU and Windows
Used Windows memory diagnostic tool
Checked temps while playing Fallout 4 for about 45 minutes. CPU max 74C, GPU max 60-something, with FPS stable at around 60
Ran 3DMark to see if it would crash under heavy load, it didn't
Disconnected all USB plugs except mouse/keyboard
Uninstalled ASUS AI suite 3
Tried out WhoCrashed but it says "no valid crash dumps have been found on your computer"
Tried to fix the Kernel-PnP 219 by updating the ASUS Probe II Sense driver, which many say cause that error, but it still shows up.
Turned off all other programs including antivirus
I have ran Steam as Admin
Installed 7 Days To Die on my SSD C:-drive, still crashed
I feel like I've been through Google twice already
I have not yet done a clean install of Windows.
This is getting really frustrating. I just want to play Fallout 4 10 hours straight 🙁
