Hi, I Have Recently Got A New PC(My Fathers Old One), When He was In possession of the Computer It would run anything From Battle Field 1, Infinite Warfare, Ect... On high and still over 60fps, Now when I come into Possession of the computer, It won't run anything over 60fps, It barley runs Minecraft (Yes, I play minecraft) And I have tested it before I got the computer, It played Minecraft fine, but Now it won't.
Computer Specs

GPU: R7 360 2GB
CPU: AMD Phenom 1100T
RAM: 16GB G.Skil RipJaw 1333mhz
OS: Windows 10 Pro

The Games I have tried to play:
Minecraft
Insurgency
Arma 2/3
The Crew
And Black Ops 2
All on Medium to low settings yet Still crappy fps.
Thank you in advance.

Doesn't look bad at all, can you confirm that games are still running poorly, and can you please check every setting and make sure the resolution is correct and vsync is off also make sure msaa is turned down.

If you could, can you please also run a game for a few hours and see how it behaves, any crashes, unexpected lag, audio issues. Anything you can note would help.

Also could you clear your CMOS, you can do this by removing and replacing the button battery on the motherboard.

This morning, I have been playing the crew with Vsync Off Msaa off, And it was jumping from 40 down to 10, Audio was fine, It crashed once.
And this might be a noob thing to ask, but what does the cmos do?

CMOS is a type of memory that is typically used to store BIOS settings. Removing and replacing the CMOS battery will cause the settings to be wiped and thus your bios will be set to default.

When the game crashed was there an error message such as "<display driver> stopped working and has recovered".

Can you run GPU-Z while playing the game and when you experience frame drops can you note the temperature, clock speed and usage at those times (use the sensors tab in GPU-Z for a graph of the data).

When the game crashed, the screen went black and I had to restart my computer
And I will try that now.

Is this the windows 10 version of minecraft? Can you play the crew again as that would be a more GPU intensive game.

No that is the Normal Version of minecraft, and if you look underneath that post, there is the link for the crew

If you have integrated graphics in that CPU or on your mobo, try pulling the graphics card. You should be able to run minecraft ez with just that. Then if there's no problems, you'll know it's the GPU.

I don't have On board graphics, Which sucks, Ill have to find a old graphics card or something.

My motherboard doesn't have a Video Output.

It may be an issue with that particular display driver, try finding an older version of the display driver, or see if you can find the original driver cd that would have came with the card. It's a shame you wiped the data because there may have been the last working driver on the hard drive. Maybe you should try a win 7 installation if you have one.

Long story short there is some issue with the gpu either software or hardware. Was the computer trasported? Did you clean it out? If the computer was just moved down the hall i don't see how damadge could have occured, it may just be bad luck.

^ Yeah I suggested that, and even looked, but the older drivers weren't WIN 10 compatible. I suppose he could try in compatibility mode? But I've never tried that with drivers. I thought it might have been de-tuned in later drivers. Who knows? Long thread. lol

It worked fine with windows 10, but I don't think my father ever updated the drivers from when he got the card, and I have cleaned it out multiple times and I am guessing my father just let windows install his driver. So I might just completely remove my current driver and let windows do it, and see if that works.

I have already decided to get a new card, I am waiting for Christmas to role around, and get some money to buy a decent one, I have seen a really good deal on a 2gb GTX 960

And also, I reinstalled to a lower version driver, and I went from 80-100 fps in minecraft to 350-400, I will proceed to do some other tests and report back, Crossing my fingers that it was the drivers.
