I bought a new graphics card for my PC : nvidia gt 730. I set up the graphics card on the mother board. then I started the computer and installed the drivers. when installation completed it required a restart. the problem is in the restarting. the bois menu shows up, the "starting windows logo" shows up and then nothing .... my pc remains black.........and also after a few minutes the CPU gives a beep. ........ what should I do? ?? I want to play games with my first graphics card and the PC is messing with me

Solution
you could solve the problem this way:
1-restart the PC
2-Press F8 until the boot option come
3-Go to Enable low-resolution video (640*480) or if it didn't work go with Safe Mode
4-in windows go to search Box
5-search Device Manager
6-goto Display Adapters
7-right click on the on-board Graphic adapter and select Disable
8-restart
How were you driving your monitor previously...was it plugged into an onboard VGA port on the PC or did you remove an older GPU to install your new one?

If you were using onboard graphics you will need to set the PC to boot from your PCI-E (PEG) adaptor in BIOS.

I was using onboard graphics card. As you said I set the settings but it didn't work... In fact the settings option was defaultly given "auto" which means it will detect automatically ...but I changed to ext. PCIe slot as you said. Well.. It didn't work.... Do you have any other ideas?

I already reinstalled the drivers .... It didn't work..
What about the beeping ? Do you have any idea??

When I bought the graphics, there was a drivers CD, I used that CD to install the drivers.. Do I still need to download the latest drivers ?

The thing you are talking about generally means drivers issue. the latest drivers is always the way to go.

But then not sure why there is a beep.

Which brand and model. As far as I know the GT 730 doesn't use much power. so a 500W should be more than enough. But from your name I am guessing you might be from India and normally people get Zebronics which is not a good one.

Check out your Mobo manual for diagnostic beeps. check what does the 1 beep stand for. Please mention your entire build information so its easier to even suggest something.

I searched the net and found that 1 long beep means something about graphics configuration.....
What else do you want to know about build information?
No, I don't use Zebronics... And NOT an Indian. I'm from BANGLADESH...

Zebronics is a sound system... right? I use microlab as speakers.

My onboard graphics is " intel HD graphics ", Should I disable it in device management and uninstall the drivers??
And by the way,,,, if I remove my graphics card and plug the monitor wire with the onboard graphics card just like when my PC was alright.. There occurs no problem!

Thanks, it worked.... I didn't go to boot menu instead I just disabled the onboard graphics adapter...
