Hello,
my PC's specs are:
-GTX 560 1GB GDDR5
-i5 2300 quadcore going at about 2.8ghz
-6gb of ddr3 RAM (some Kingston brand, cant remember)
-700w Cooler Master Silent Pro series PSU
all my drivers are up to date, and i'm pretty sure this PC can handle Skyrim, RAGE, League of Legends, etc. at pretty high settings since my old GT240 could handle all of these perfectly (medium settings with 40-60fps). my GPU's temperature never goes above 60-65 degrees (when playing games) since my room is ass biting cold, and my CPU stays within 40degrees all the time. i know my PC could handle these games, but i usually get to play for about 5-10 minutes until my PC completely shuts down.

any idea why this is happening?

Hi I am having the same problem as the other fella. My PC is rebooting, I unchecked "reboot on critical" and all my PC did was turn off, no error msg then or at restart. I am not getting any stuttering before it does this and it only happens when gaming, suggestions? :)

Having same issue. After extensive hardware testing I am sure that the psu is failing. Shots down with my 650ti in it but if I put gt640 in it runs for days. Psu issue mainly because other csrd pulls almost 100 more we whatts of power. When game goes full bore I get the restart.

Just solved my problem. I have the same issue, but i did a different approach. Try to clean your processor's heatsink, fan and wipe all the dust buildup, make sure that airflow vent smoothly to your heatsink, or to whatever cooling system you may have. Re-apply thermal paste to your processor. Do this also to your GPU, Try to wipe off some of the dust that you may found on your motherboard, and to your other PC component.

Someone PLEASE answer me.. My pc is doing the same thing, it did it twice to me.. just completely cut power. I cant tell what temp it is exactly but it seems to be running a bit warm. It cut out while i was playing SMITE. Now i did what you said up top "CHECK EVENT LOG FOR ERRORS"

I got Kernel-Processor-Power error is what did it FORSURE, because i checked the time stamps and matched it to the text messages i sent to a friend exactly after it happened. under details it says this: Some processor performance power management features have been disabled due to a known firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware.

What does this mean? anyone?

It could be either software or hardware problem or both.
For hardware, not enough power? Other than that, clean the dust off there. The dust collects over the fan and eventually it can stop or work less efficiently. Had this happen once, so it shut down as soon as it was overheating.
For software? Drivers. Update em, check if they are the correct ones.

I had the exact same problem. I refused to believe it was a direct hardware problem. Firstly the problem only occured when playing games and secondly it happened with any game of any graphical intensity, even very old school low graphics games. Thirdly, the problem occured very consistently about 5 minutes into a game. This just doesnt seem like faulty hardware at first sight, more like a software issue related to drivers... So I SOLVED IT. Here's what I did: I simply reverted to the previous version of the NVidia display drivers! Simples. The version I used that was problematic was the 338.xx range, when I reverted to the 335.xx versions all my woes were gone. This doesnt mean that the exact same versions will work for everybody, so I would suggest you systematically downgrade the version of your display drivers until you find the one that works. If you are not using the latest drivers (338.xx at the timeof writing) you could also try upgrading instead of downgrading. Visit the nvidia site for the drivers. Dont go wasting any money on any hardware before trying this!
