Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue with my custom-built PC that I can’t seem to resolve. Everything was working fine for 2.5 years (built August 2022) until recently. Now my PC shuts itself off about 5 seconds after powering on. Here’s what I’ve discovered so far:
Question:
Why does my PC stay powered on without the RAM sticks, but shuts off with them installed? Both the RAM sticks and the motherboard slots appear undamaged, and this issue happened suddenly from one day to the next.
Does anyone have any advice or insight? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
I’m having an issue with my custom-built PC that I can’t seem to resolve. Everything was working fine for 2.5 years (built August 2022) until recently. Now my PC shuts itself off about 5 seconds after powering on. Here’s what I’ve discovered so far:
- If I remove the RAM sticks from my motherboard, the PC stays on
- With the RAM sticks installed (in any configuration), the PC shuts off after a few seconds.
- The RAM sticks worked perfectly fine in this setup before, so they should be compatible.
- All cables and connections have been checked and securely reattached.
- I’ve tried all RAM slots individually, and none of them work. I’ve also tested each RAM stick one by one in different slots, but the issue persists.
- Motherboard: Gigabyte X570S AORUS PRO AX
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3600
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 3.7 GHz 12-Core Processor
- GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 10GB
- PSU: Corsair RM850x White 850W
- Whether the RAM slots on the motherboard are faulty.
- If the PSU isn’t delivering enough power.
- If there’s another hardware issue I might be overlooking
