Hey guys,

I recently switched my Motherboard from Z690 Elite DDR4 to an Z690 Elite AX supporting DDR5 with DDR5 RAM.

Now the "problem" that I get is, that when I cut the power completely from the PC, then turn it back on, it resets one time before booting normally. I never had that before with my motherboard and just know this resetting thing when something is not working or resetting the BIOS.
First I thought it maybe the CMOS battery is flat, or is this normal now with DDR5?

Really weird, until now I got no other problems or resets.

Edit: When I don't cut the power from the PC, the motherboard RGB is on the entire time, even when switched off in BIOS when Sleep/Hibernate etc, but then the PC starts without resetting one time.

Did you reinstall your OS after the migration?

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:

include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Okay, and how exactly does that help ?

When you "cut the power completely from the PC", the motherboard may be retraining the memory, depending on model. This is a normal occurrence. In most instances, there should be no need to completely cut off the power.
You sure? That the first time I had a motherboard acting like that.

That feature depends on the model of the motherboard. According to the manual, your motherboard performs memory training during the boot process. You may want to consider modifying the settings to test it out.

The relevant BIOS setting "Memory Boot Mode" can be found on page 14 of the BIOS Setup Manual. Here is a link to the manual for your convenience:

Thank you very much, seems really to be a "feature".
