Hi All :)

Have just built a new PC. Having issues since the beginning.

Specs
Mobo - Aorus B550 Elite v2 (had to do bios update to get pc to post)
GPU - Powercolor 6600
CPU - Ryzen 5500
RAM - Lexmark 16gb
PSU - thermaltake 600w

So, installed everything after the bios update, pc was running fine doing normal bits etc. Then installed steam and tried to run a game, as soon as the game kicked in, the PC shut itself off, couldnt start again by chassis button, had to turn switch on psu off and leave for few secs, tried another 3-5 times and exact same thing happened. Tried several different things, updated drivers again, ran only one RAM stick, reapplied thermal and resat cpu, checked no shorts etc etc

Ive got two other psus 650w semi modular but mobo doesnt recognise them, when connected the lights on the mobo dont come on and cant switch pc on. Have cleared cmos etc but neither will put power to the board (granted i havent used them for couple years so they may be knackered - XFX 80+ Bronze 650w semi modular & PowerCool 650w semi modular)

Ran cinebench - scored around 9500 no issues with the cpu (ryzen 5 5500)
Ran furmark with the 6600 in and instantly shut down - then ran furmark with the r9 270 in the same rig and it ran fine....

Quick google says that the r9 270 draws 150w power and the 6600 draws 130w power - people keep saying its the psu but wouldnt the problem be replicated with the r9 270 if that was the case? The psu is the only component other than the case and few cables kept from old am3 rig

At a little bit of a loss as to what to try next

any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Thank you

what are these cable you kept and use

X2 sata cables, have since used new ones and have even disconnected the ssds and just used the m2 drive with the os installed. Still same problem persists
Also have x2 fans that were on the case originally, doubt they are causing any issue but disconnected anyway and problem still happened

even with m2 drive only you have issue with 6600 gpu does it run well with older gpu in games .

Yes with just the m2 drive installed the computer still shuts down with new 6600. With the r9 270 and just the m2 drive the computer works fine, runs games better than it did in old system.
Psu or gpu issue, will hopefully be able to test the 6600 on another pc tomorrow
