Hello all.

I seem to be having a problem with my PC.

The best to explain it, when I wake my computer up or it has not gone to sleep, I try and log on to windows using the pin.

I type the pin in and there seems to be a delay on the log on screen for the pin to appear.

when I am on my home screen and click the start menu it take about 10 seconds for the menu to appear, the same with other programs, there seems to be a delay.

My Corsair K95 keyboard has the rainbow effect which normally runs smooth, but when the delay happens the keyboard light sequence is not smooth but goes like second hand on a clock.

When I do managed to launch Task Manager, I can see that my WMI Provider Host is using around 89% CPU, I
right click and end the task but it comes back still running at around 89%.

Only when I do PC restart does it sort this problem out and the PC works normally.

I have noticed this happens when the PC wake up or has been idling for some time.

I have disabled ICUE from starting with windows, that has not fixed the issue as I though it might be causing a conflict with Asus Armoury crate.

the last resort it to do a clean install.

if anyone has encountered this problem or has a fix, this would help so much.

Often times glitches like that mentioned above can be attributed to a buggy OS after multiple updates(something might've gone wrong under the hood). Might I ask what BIOS version you're on for your motherboard at the time of writing? Age of the PSU in your build? You could try and work with Corsair's iCUE app standalone from Asus's Armory Crate and see if the issue persists. See if reinstalling the iCUE app with the latest version in an elevated command changes your experience with the issue/glitch.

Hello,

thank you for the quick reply.

Bios Version : 1301 (09/24/2021)

PSU purchased: 10/2017

I did reinstall ICUE as from the behaviour of the Keyboard lights I thought that might be the issue as ICU has been disabled on start up.

Another thing I realised is that Armory Crate and ICUE are both trying to control motherboard lights, ARGB and Memory LEDS.

I have unticked boxes so that both software does not control one item.

I have not tried disabling Armory Crate, will try that today and see with both ICUE and Amoury disabled.

can not find the setting to disable Amoury crate on start up so will uninstall it and see how PC performs.

I will let you know the results.

Looks like the problem was the Armory Crate.

I uninstalled Armory Crate, the Asus Aura, Asus wallpaper.

tis problem has not happen since the 10th May.

So yesterday I downloaded a new setup file of Armory Crate and installed it.
Same problem occurred today.

Uninstalled Armory Crate and leaving it as that.

thanks for your help
