System:

i7 4820k @ Stock clocks
GIGABYTE X79 UD-3
16GB Hyperram (hynix)
Windows 7 Ultimate
EVGA G2 850W

It's had this problem for a age now (which i guess was RAM related, but it seemed to have gone away when i removed another stick) where i cant restart My PC so it'd end up stuck at the POST Screen unless i resetted it's CMOS, but now it's done it again and no matter how many resets i do it's not booting up at all.

I've heard this problem seems to be a thing with Gigabyte motherboards and their bios? i really hope i dont end up having to move to another motherboard cause X79 boards arent cheap nowadays.

Hi

is this 4 x 4GB or 2 x 8GB ?

you need to check the motherboards hardware compatibility list for suitable ram

You can reduce to 1 DIMM and try differnt slots

Does ram run at standard DDR-3 voltage ? or require a higher voltage ?

when was system built ? and was it OK at first or has never worked ?

is there a graphics card or 2 ?
as with out one the 850W PSU is over kill

Check PSU voltages as a number of recent reports of strange behaviour were faulty PSU with voltage out of spec

try all tests in Toms faq on similar subject

i've tried it with 1 Stick of RAM (atm it's 2X8GB) and it still has the same issue, and the system was built around autumn this year :]. and it worked great when it was first built then the problems came, and the 850W was ment for when the graphics card would be upgraded (i had planned to go HD 7990)
