PC to HDTV Connection Problem

So we just got a 50 inch Samsung Full HDTV 3D Smart TV and I'm trying to hook my computer up to it to play games(every gamers dream right?).

I'm using an Nvidia Geforce 9500 GT which has the dual dvi ports and an svideo port and running Windows 7.

Here's my issue. This particular card has the option to run your sound card through it which means when I use a dvi to hdmi converter and plug into the hdmi of my tv it trys to run sound through the video card(even though I don't have my sound card hooked up through the video card). This is a very odd bug for this particular card and no real working fix with samsung through Nvida.

So I went out and bought an vga to rca component cable since I already have a dvi to rga converter. But when I hook it through the tv component I'm getting a No Signal error.

What am I doing wrong? And what EASY fixes are there for this?

Hello... to get HD use the DVI to HDMI only... VGA is not HD input compatable, it is a a analog signal, and harder to get sync'd and a good video picture... to get sound use your Sound card output to TV audio input... Different TV HDMI input will allow this combination... ( check your TV manual for which one ) HDMI digital video input and a seperate audio input combination.

DVI is digital video and no sound connections... HDMI is digital video and analog audio wired. WIKI for more information on the connections.

I would recomend different/upgrade video card for better Video/game play speed... But it is a great experience when gaming on on your TV.

I did that first. Bought a dvi to hdmi converter and ran that to the dvi hdmi slot on the back of the tv. I was getting great picture but sound feedback and it wasn't using my sound card which i had ran to the av. I even disabled the sound driver in my video card controller through the nvidia program. Guess I can go back to that and try again?

Hello... go into your Control Panel for Windows... Find your AUDIO control program... and Select where you want the Sound to come from... you should have more than one option/Device listed... Mine is RealTek Audio on my motherboard .

You can also plug your audio into a Sound system, instead of your TV... I plug mine into my TV for one Remote control, Volume control... My audio input is linked to HDMI input 6, on my TV.
