Agreed. laying PC on its side (so the removed side panel is facing up towards ceiling) is much easier to work with in general and also easier for ensuring you dont insert GPU/Ram in at too much of an angle.

Lay it on it's side, much easier to fit/remove mobo components like that, and easier to make sure cards are fully seated as far as they will go in to the slot with much less risk of bending (and possibly cracking) the card.
