Pc turns on along with the cpu debug light and turns off immediately after

Pc specs
MSI z270 sli plus (Brand new)
i5
Gtx 970
Ram is 2 sticks of 8gb
I'm unsure of what the problem is any help would be appreciated

Probably a short somewhere since it turns off immediately after turning on. I would check all your connections, make sure the 4 or 8pin CPU power cable is plugged into the board from your PSU, the connector is usually near the top right of the mobo. If that doesn't solve it, pull the mobo out of the case, put it on your mobo's box or something and try to turn on the pc outside of the case, if it turns on you likely have an unused standoff in the case touching the bare PCB of the mobo, or there is a short somewhere else in the case.

The fact that the CPU ligts turns on seems to indicate a problem with the CPU: (From the manual)

Do you have a cooler on the CPU?

Start by removing the CPU from the socket and see if power stays on - the CPU debug light should go on then. If not,then it would seem a problem wither with the motherboard or with your power supply.
