Hello everyone,

Hopefully you wont mind another 'upgrade thread'. I'm thinking of spending a few bucks to get my system running a bit smoother. Mainly playing cs:go wich my current pc is fine for, however I'd also like to pick up streaming again. Now streaming really hurts my cpu and fps to the point that it hurts my ingame performance at the moment.

Any advice on what/how to upgrade? Budget is fairly large, however to spend big bucks i'd like to see a big improvement aswel!

Current pc:

HDD: Samsung SpinPoint F3 Desktop Class HD103SJ - Vaste schijf - 1 TB - intern - 3.5" - SATA-300 - 7200 tpm -buffer: 32 MB

SSD: Samsung 128GB

RAM: Kingston ValueRAM - Geheugen - 8 GB : 2 x 4 GB - DIMM 240-pins - DDR3 - 1333 MHz / PC3-10600 - CL9 - 1.5 V - niet-gebufferd Kingston ValueRAM - Geheugen - 8 GB : 2 x 4 GB - DIMM 240-pins - DDR3 - 1333 MHz / PC3-10600 - CL9 - 1.5 V - niet-gebufferd

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K / 3.3 GHz - LGA1155 Socket - L3 6 MB - doos

GPU: Geforce 970 GTX

Motherboard: ASRock P67 Extreme4 - Moederbord - ATX - LGA1155 Socket - P67 - USB 3.0, FireWire - Gigabit Ethernet - HD Audio (8-kanaals)

I'm very curious about your advice! Thanks in advance!

I am going to keep this post short because last time I did I wrote a few paragraphs but accidentally closed out. I would say all the parts are fine, but the CPU could definitely use an upgrade. It is 6 years old from its release date, which is a little to old to keep in your system. Your Motherboard is outdated as well. Barely any CPU's run on it; only old ones if any. I would HIGHLY recommend upgrading your motherboard to a LGA 1151 or LGA 1150 (1151 is more dated). For the LGA 1151, go for the i5-6600K. FOr the LGA 1150, go for the i5-4460 or i5-4690K.

I used a standard BIOS overclock to (if i recall correctly) 4.2 Ghz, someone recently told me those settings are poorly optimized though.

The RAM is 8GB, 2 times 4GB.

What I forgot to mention is that i'm planning to add a monitor. Currently only using one, i'd like to add a second. Help interacting while streaming etc. Does this change your advice?

Regarding your advice I'm assuming bigger number bigger bang? I'm by no means an expert, but I noticed you didn't mention the Intel Core i7-7700K for example, any specific reason for that?

Also what am i looking for when picking a motherboard, it appears there are alot of options for the LGA 1151...

Also, thank you for your answer!

I'm currently looking at this: any comments?

Intel® Core i77700, 3,6 GHz (4,2 GHz Turbo Boost) socket 1151 processor - ArtNr. HK7I11 - FCLGA4, "Kaby LakeS"

Arctic Freezer i32, CPUkoeler - ArtNr. HXLC32

Corsair 16 GB DDR43000 Kit, Werkgeheugen - ArtNr. IEIG5R32 Zwart, CMK16GX4M2B3000C15, Vengeance LPX, XMP

MSI Z270 GAMING PRO CARBON, socket 1151 moederbord - ArtNr. GKEM74 RAID, GbLAN, Sound, ATX

Looks good. Is that a k or no k? Are you interested in overclocking or considering a gpu upgrade?
