PC upgrade - final step (PSU)

Hi, I reached the final step of the upgrade process and based on some of your advice I need to replace the PSU as well.

My build:

microATX ASrock H61M-VG3 P1.60
Intel core i3-3220 3.3 GHz 3300 Mhz
SSD 120GB
HDD 500GB
Asus GTX750TI-PH-2GD5
2x4 GB DDR3
PSU ATX 450W P4

And i have two questions, can you please advise?

1. Since I was recommended not to go higher than the gtx 750, which probably means i should not do any more upgrades to the current system, will a 430W psu be enough or should i go with 500W? I was thinking Corsair cx 430w (+12V1/32 A) vs cx 500w (+12V1/34 A).

2. The pc case is a small one, the space between the gtx 750 fan and the bottom of the case will be around ~4cm. Can this be a problem?

The cx 430 would be more than enough for your build, the fan space is also fine btw, hope you enjoy the build.

who told you that you need to upgrade the PSU? unless your current "450W" is only a 200W in real life, you're mostly fine to keep using it. the 750Ti isn't a power-hungry beast.

that said, a 430W like the Corsair CX or EVGA is perfect. there's even an EVGA 400W that would be fine. there's no NEED to spend more, unless you want to or fall prey to peer pressure (from people who aren't even contributing a single penny)

well corsair cx series is a low quality one and if u do have the 430w one i would stick with it cuz u need to but atleast a 750ti to run games on decent fps ....

The problem was not the power but the amperage and the build itself.

I was recommended to buy tier 3 at least - but seems like the cx 430 is tier 4.

ah ok, yeah that's an older style PSU, and the 12V rail is weak.

CX430 are fine. i use two of them and a CX500 and an EVGA430. i haven't burned down any houses yet, nothing has exploded, and i have more money in my pocket.

are there better units than Corsair CX? sure.
are there worse ones? tons.
will it burn down your house before you even plug it in? uh, no.
are internet rumours true? usually not.

the internet is a great place for one story from one guy to turn into 234 stories from 44 guys. all of them "i heard that..." and "everyone knows that..." and "there's tons of reports of..."
