hey guys,

i currently have this system:
i7 3770k stock
palit gtx 680 stock
16gb kingston ram
msi z77-g45
256gb samsung ssd
2tb 7200rpm hdd
lian li

i am not entirely sure about the rest such as psu and stuff as i bought this pc already assembled but it would be nice if you told me for example which psu i should get.

now to the upgrading part: from the things i have read i came to the conclusion that i might overclock the cpu and upgrade the gpu to the gtx 980ti from gigabyte. i mostly play the most recent shooters but also some other (partly demanding) games. in the past i played the most games on mid to low settings because i at least need 120fps for my monitor to work as one wants a 120hz display to work and i am kinda tired of that... one thing i will do is get the asus rog swift 144hz 1ms g-sync monitor.

what do you guys think i should do? please give me advice! thank you for the help!

cheers Niko

Solution
The human eye can only process 60 fps so shooting for 10,000fps would do you no good it's wasted money. but buying that card isn't a bad choice. you'll be able to render any game it max setting and to achieve high fps. If you are looking to do an sli with that card in the future approx 1000W psu, if this will be the only card in your system 750W would suffice.

thanks for your impression and help... i am totally on your side ... i dont want to show off or something like that , thats not the reason i want this card... i am able to upgrade now and this upgrade shall last me a couple of years... i am willing to play future games in like 3 years on lower settings but i want the setup to last till then easily!... i will go with a single gpu because i dont really see the point in wasting that much money tbh... do you think i will be able to just exchange the gpu and dont worry about the rest or will there be any conflicts or bottlenecks?
