Hello,

New to this forum so sorry if this is in the wrong place

I have a 1440p monitor 144hz and my current GPU is not cutting it but I worry if I upgrade to a 3070/6800 that the rest of my comp won't keep up

Which do you think would be required to upgrade first (was thinking CPU and PSU)

My Build is as follows

X470 MSI gaming plus mobo
4 x4gb ram 3200mhz DDR4
2600x cpu
x62 AIO cpu cooler
GTX 1060 zotac mini 6gb
500W EVGA 80+ PSU

Also if I Cant get hold of any of these GPUs at the minute what GPU would comfortably run a 1440p at decent settings? I play some solo player games like assassins creed, doom etc but also play a lot of Battle royale titles which don't need to be run at max settings

Thanks

Thanks for your response, yeah I thought it was on the low side my psu, will have a look at that you posted

I was wondering about the 2600x, I am guessing when we go towards 1440p the GPU does most of the heavy lifting.

So if I just replaced the GPU and PSU my system would be pretty solid?

yes.At 1440p most of the job will be done by the GPU.Forgot to mention that 6800 also requires around 600W,so its similar with both 3070/6800 when we are talking about powersupplies.
