Hi guys,

Thanks in advance for any help and advice. So, using the template:

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: this or next week
BUDGET RANGE: 500$ or £300

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT:
Rendering with Lumion and 3D softwares
Gaming - I want to play better the new Thief game, Crysis 3

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY:
MSI Radeon R9 270X HAWK
Corsair 550W

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
Asus P5Q
4GB Corsair
No cooling system

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: England

PARTS PREFERENCES: No preference.

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Yes, but in the future

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1680x1050

March of this year I had to update my GPU because I was strungling working with some applications. So after some carefully consideration I bought the MSI Radeon R9 270X HAWK. My ideia is maybe by the end of this year get a second one and do a Crossfire or SLI (don't remember each one is).

Know I need help to see if this components still are the best I can get with 500$ or £300. I am thinking buying the:

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard

However, I am not too sure what memory should I get. A member of this forum recommened getting a 1866 Mhz with CL9. However, I am not too sure which one should I get. For 500$ or £300 is this the best solution?

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+
8GB or 16GB 1866 Mhz with CL9

Many thanks in advance

8350 with 990fxa is a solid pairing. 16gb is ideal... dont worry about the speed of the RAM, get whatever kit you can find on sale/rebate

i dont think that power supply is going to be enough to power a hungry 8350 plus two of those cards

I just need a motherboard, CPU and some RAM. Everything else is covered. For these components is still a low budget?

@lowriderflow: The two graphics card will be later this year and at that time I will buy a new power supply. Will my power supply support this component?

''Forgot to mention that I saw this one:

G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory

It seems a good brand. Any other suggestion? ''

do not go too far.....you do not even know if you will keep your mobo? because you are stock with your 775 socket mobo
its up to you if you prefer toys or if you prefer serious hardwares?

Maybe the template is not helping but I am not intereted in getting a new built for just £300. I don't want to sound rude, but is not the case if I want toys or hardware, it is the case of what budget I have to upgrade my current build.

I already have the MSI HAWK Radeon R9 270X and a PSU. What I want is to make sure that I get the best CPU+MB+RAM combination with £300 more or less. I know is not much and there is a some flexibility in the budget, but not something like £700.

Thanks
