PC Upgrade Help

Hi, I am currently in the process of upgrading my pc to handle the new generation of gaming eg. No Man's Sky, Star Citizen.

My PC specs are:

Mobo: gigabyte ga x58-usb3
CPU: Intel i7
RAM: 14GB
GPU: Radeon HD 6900 Series
PSU: Corsair X850

I am considering the AMD Radeon RX 480 as my graphical upgrade and have recently just upgraded my RAM from 6GB to 14GB, I am also looking into getting a SSD to replace my current HHD. I am aware my Mobo is old but I think it has a few years left on it and financially I can't afford to rebuild just yet. I am just looking for some feedback on my current plans or to get any advice? Also will my 850w PSU be sufficient for the changed I am planning? Thanks guys.

That should be fine. What i7 is it specifically?

The CPU is the I7 950@3.07Ghz

You might get some bottlenecking due to how old that CPU is but it shouldn't be by too much.
