Hey! I have a PowerSpec G151 that i’ve had for a while, but running games i’ve noticed the CPU running at near 100% almost constantly and on newer games some fps drops. I’m looking to upgrade power supply, graphics card, and/or cpu on it. Are there any suggestions on what to get?

Specs:
GPU - MSI Nvidia GTX 1050ti OC edition
PSU - 400w (From powerspec)
HDD/SSD - 512 gb ssd
OS - Windows 10 Home
MOBO - ASRock B250M
RAM - 16gb ram

I don't recommend spending money on an old platform, but, if you wanted to keep your motherboard and ram, you could get a used i7-7700k from ebay for about $250. Even though you can't overclock with your board, the i7 would double your thread count and give you a much better base and turbo clock speed...

The best solution would be a complete new build since you lack an SSD and you want a new PSU and GPU. Your chassis is a relatively poor design IMO so I'd replace that too. I'd try to sell the system you have and put that $$ with what cash you have toward a new build, or you could keep the system as is for a spare.

Even if you got a used i7 and new power supply, it's unlikely you'll find a new GPU in the current market for a reasonable price, if at all.
