hey there mate :) do you want full PC upgrade or just PC parts upgrade that will match your Motherboard?

Hello Thanks for fast reply
full pc upgrade would be great but i Have just recently bought the r9 290x so probably better option would be to upgrade to match motherboard if possible. Just to give it a longer lifespan. Mainly use it for gaming. But have noticed drops in performance lately

Honestly your PC is pretty good and solid, what kind of performance drops does it suffer? and whats your Budget for new PC?

Budget for new pc would be around £500 but would have this gpu Available.
The issues im having are slow load times on most applications and games when trying to launch e.g. steam games, recentral and sony vegas also motherboard reaches 60-70 deg when cpu being stressed in games (use speccy for temp readings) .
I have used avg and malwarebytes both say there are no issues

Depending on what games you are trying to play, your cpu will be a bottleneck. Maybe go with an fx8350 or overclock the one you have a bit. I'd replace the PSU also. Never skimp on a power supply. Other than that, you're good.

Sorry for late reply
Thank you for all the help and advice

Is there a power supply that any of you would recommend
and the fx8350 looks like a good option.
Which one would be better tho
fx8350 (4.2ghz)
or
fx8350 black edition (4.0ghz)

I know i can overclock the fx 4300 to 4.4 up to 4.8 ghz but the temps on the motherboard go sky high

Games i have been playing are
arc survival evolved (alpha) so not optimised
7 days to die (alpha) optimised
gta v
elder scrolls : skyrim + mods
fallout new vegas + mods

Games optimised with Amd Gaming Evolved

also would it be worth replacing ram with a higher mhz?

thanks again

Install your OS and programs on SSD for hugely more responsive and snappy desktop performance. The RAM is on offer, so i chose 1866mhz over 1600, no point in going higher as the performance increase in very minimal. This PSU is high quality and will be great for your needs.

If you fancy a new motherboard as well, you will generally need a new copy of windows too. So that ramps up the price a bit.
