Guys this is just a weird question. But I think you've seem the new tomb raider. Comparing with the pc the graphics look much better on the ps4. I'm planning to buy a new pc next year. What do you think? Have the consoles finally beaten the pc? And will the ps4 be a better buy?

You saw Tomb Raider 2013 looks better of PS4 becoz , they have released a new version of tomb raider . Its is callled tomb raider : Definitive Edition and its only for Ps4 , they have improved graphics in definitive edtion , if Definitive Edition was on PC
it would have looks FARRRRRRRRRRR more better . ALways get a gaming PC...
... What in the world do you mean "comparing with the pc the graphics look better on the ps4"?

Unless you were watching it being played on an utter POS laptop at 720p and low settings on intel integrated graphics... the pc wins. You might have been seeing a bad rig trying to run it, but that does not come close to meaning the PS4's graphics are better.

Also, do a little research into the history of gaming dude, come on. This release of consoles is pretty much the first where the consoles are MARKEDLY worse than the PCs. In the history, the consoles were actually better than PCs at the time, and then the PCs would catch up within two years and then far surpass the consoles, like we saw with the PS2 or Xbox 360. The current consoles? Well, you can build a pretty much comparably priced rig and get comparable performance... and just a little bit more money gets you far better performance.

Yes, the PS4 is cheaper. Yes, it has some options as a media center. If you want it, buy it... but the friends I have who have them don't care for it that much, and I would always take a good PC.

Ultimately the decision of what you want is up to you, but this thread is going to cause arguments because you stated a claim that's usually only founds in the mouths of trolls.

Have you maxed tomb raider on the pc at 60 fps? To be honest the PC isn't for price/performance, but what it is capable up is much higher. The consoles haven't "caught up," they are falling behind. The consoles used to be ahead of what PC's were, then with the 360/ps3 they were about equal. Now the consoles are using weakened 2-3 year old PC parts, but since they all have the same specifications developers can optimize for them, allowing them to close the gap, but not all the way.

Even I'm using a R9 270X. I love PC gaming and Have Maxed Out Tomb Raider too. Here's what's bugging me...

Yeah... that's a silly thing of being worried about.

The PC version of that was a bad port from the first release on the old consoles - the new version has been updated for the new consoles. If they make a bad port of IT, it'll look better than the consoles.

That's a single game that isn't anazingly coded in the first place that's a port of a cruddy version of the game made to run on 8-year-old consoles.

They made some minor changes to Lara's face and with particle effects in addition to bumping up the resolution to 1080p on PS4, but the PC version can still be better in many ways depending on the hardware. I'd recommend a PC, but PS4 looks to be the best of the new consoles, though.
