I wanted a cheap upgrade on the GPU. I have an HD 7950 that still works but when I switch that for my newly bought RX 570, my pc wont boot anymore.

Things I've checked and tried:
PSU
Motherboard: Both PCI-E x16 slots
Remove old GPU drivers, shutting down the pc and switching the HD 7950 to the RX 570. Still wont boot.

Can the GPU be faulty or am I missing something in the BIOS settings?

update the motherboard bios

also those gpu's are close enough and your cpu is so weak that you will not see much difference

you should have used the money towards a complete system update

return it if you can

I can't update my BIOS if MSI decides to hide the BIOS file from their website. The 2.8 version gives me a .txt file and an .exe which then generates an empty folder and a .bin file. It's not recognized in the BIOS when I want to update from the flash drive. I tried v2.2 BIOS file which I downloaded from the MSI forums but it's still not recognizing it in the BIOS. Formatted my USB Drive to FAT32 so I don't know what I'm doing wrong here.

EDIT: Replaced my old motherboard with a new one. problem solved. 😛
