Hi,

After having my computer built for a few days I have run into some issues.

I was re-doing some cable management and decided to re-seat my Graphics card into another PCIE slot and now I cannot POST.

Previously, I was able to post fine.

I have noticed that the two debug lights for ‘CPU’ and ‘DRAM’ are both on, but previously this was not the case.

I had noticed this before when building the PC, I hadn’t received the RAM yet and I booted the PC to check the fans were working and both of those debug lights were on, so could it be the RAM?

Unfortunately I am unable to test any other RAM because I don’t have any.

Steps I have taken so far:

Remove everything, took the motherboard out, put it back in and plug everything else back in
Check the CPU pins
Remove and Re-insert RAM
Swap to a different graphics card
Reset CMOS

Also, my specs are:

MSI B350 PC MATE
Ryzen 3 1300X
1 x 16GB DDR4 2400Mhz Crucial RAM
RADEON HD 7870 2GB

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I can confirm that the Motherboard was the issue. I received a replacement today, plugged everything in and it will now POST.

I haven't booted up into an OS yet because I'm doing uni work but I'll have a play around with it tonight.

Thanks to everyone for their replies and offers for solutions!

I've selected the best answer based on the following reasons:
-the OP solved the issue by replacing the board;
-the OP has not selected a best answer;
-there were 3 moderators trying to solve the issue, so I imagined that no one of them would try to select a best answer...
-g-user1111 was the first one to point to a board issue: "If not then things would point to the motherboard as the source of the problems. "
Was I right?

Not really. First, I don't see that the BA IS selected. Second, since the OP just posted to this thread today, it's usually not a good idea to select the BA. Usually that is only appropriate if a week or more has passed since the OP has posted to the thread AND there IS an answer that MOST led to the solution. Also, we do have staff that follows up to threads and selects best answers, so it's not really necessary for any of us to do it, but if you happen to come across a thread that matches the above criteria, then it's fine.

In this case, I think it was too soon, especially since he said he had not yet finished and booted the system. Still a good chance they will come back and choose their own solution. Normally though I think you'd be fine but waiting a little while is always a good idea.

Because I unselected it. OP didn't even have a chance to choose.

Basic BA rule is don't select the BA in a thread that isn't yours. If it's an older thread this is less important but when the OP is still actively posting you shouldn't do it. Ever. If you feel it's necessary ask a moderator.

It makes sense. Thank you.
