Out of the blue, my PC just won’t reboot. As you can see in the video (link bellow), it turns on and then fails and shuts down by itself. It then tries to reboot again and fails and just keeps going like that. I have to manually shut it down on the power supply and boot it up again and it starts just fine.

I’ve also seen a quite big performance drop when gaming which I’m not sure if it is connected to this issue but I’m more inclined to believe it’s not just a coincidence. I haven’t done anything on the hardware lately and the only updates on software were windows updates which I’m not sure were correctly updated because the system won’t reboot. Any suggestions?

Video of the Issue

Full system specs, including PSU make and model (or part number) is? Also, how old the PSU is, and was the PSU bought new or used/refurbished?
- Intel Core i7 12700K 12-Core (3.6GHz-5.0GHz) 25MB Skt1700
- Nvidia RTX 2060 6Gb
- Cooler CPU Jonsbo HX6250 Preto - 140mm (LGA 1700)
- Motherboard MSI MAG B660M MORTAR WIFI DDR4
- Corsair Kit 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3600MHz Vengeance RGB Pro SL Black CL18
- SSD Samsung 870 QVO 1TB SATA III (x2)
- Modular Corsair RM 750X (2021) 80+ Gold

Everything was bought new on August 2022 with exception of the graphics card which is some months older and I was using it on my old PC

Remove GPU (RTX 2060) from PC, connect monitor to MoBo and look if PC powers on.

my PC just won’t reboot
Your video doesn't show reboot issue. Instead it shows initial power-on, POST, shut down, power-on, POST, shut down.

I have to manually shut it down on the power supply and boot it up again and it starts just fine.
This points towards PSU issue. Here, PSU replacement would be in order. Meaning that you RMA your PSU under warranty (Corsair RMx has 10 years of warranty) and get a replacement unit from Corsair.

Thanks for the input. Could this be related to low performance in gaming? FPS are very inconsistent (in several games) and it wasn’t like that before. I’ve updated drivers, updated windows, went back to previous versions but still it won’t solve the issue.

It can. Namely when PSU sends out of spec voltages to CPU/GPU or has way too much ripple. It makes the whole system unstable. Bad PSU can even kill every component it is connected to.

So, RMA your PSU and when you get a new one, go from there.
I've ordered a new PSU and I'll see if the problem gets fixed. I can't really take advantage of the guarantee because I couldn't find the invoice and I'm also living in a different country now so it is just not worth the hassle and the time it will take. I'll let you know if it fixes the problem.
Thanks for your help.

I wasn't even aware of a PSU like this
There are some unique PSUs out there, which also are of good quality. Seasonic and Corsair like to experiment with unique PSUs.

You already know of Seasonic Connect. It's 2nd iteration is Seasonic Syncro,
specs: https://seasonic.com/syncro-psu

While most PSUs are black, there are also white ones, like:
Seasonic Focus GX ATX 3.0 White: https://seasonic.com/atx3-focus-gx-white
Seasonic Vertex GX White: https://seasonic.com/vertex-gx-white
Corsair RMx White: https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/p/psu...-certified-fully-modular-psu-ww-cp-9020188-ww
And many more. Several brands offer white PSUs as well.

But what is unique offered by Corsair, is RMx Shift (with power connectors on it's side),
specs: https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/p/psu...-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020253-eu

And there are of course special themed PSUs with limited runs. Like;
Seasonic Vertex Sakura: https://seasonic.com/vertex-sakura
Asus Rog Strix Gundam: https://rog.asus.com/power-supply-units/rog-strix/rog-strix-850g-gundam-edition-model/

Most themed PSUs are of questionable quality. So, unless you know for sure that PSU is good (like the two i linked), better not buy one. Same goes for PSUs that have RGB fan in them. There are only very few, select PSUs, with RGB fan in them, that are good. Most PSUs with RGB fan are best to be avoided.
