Question PC Won't Appear on TV (First Build)

Hey all,
So, after saving for a while, I finally decided to do my first 500$ PC build. My parts include:
-i5 series 9 processor
-thermaltake case
-MSI b360 gaming plus motherboard
-550 w evga PSU
-(1x8) Corsair Ram
-Samsung 250gb SSD
After closely following a couple video tutorials, I put the PC together. However, the motherboard didn't come with an HDMI port like I thought, just a DVI-D and a display port. I didn't have a DVI cable, just a converter from dvi to hdmi. So, i hooked it up to my Samsung TV, but I got a No Signal message from the TV. I've triple checked everything is mounted correctly, and the only other thing I can think of is to buy an actual graphics card instead of using onboard. Do you have any other suggestions as to what could be wrong?

A few i5 series 9 CPUs don't have a graphics chip so you need to post specific model that you bought so we can get that out of the way first.
