Okay, so I've researched the heck out of this and haven't been able to find a solution yet so far. So please any help would be greatly appreciated. I just want to know if this card is doa or not.

My pc specs:
Amd Fx 8120 cpu
Corsair ddr3 8gb ram
Biostar A880gz motherboard
Raidmax 530 watt psu
Link:

My new videocard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161406

Okay so this is what I've done so far.
First I installed ati drivers that came with the videocard. Then I powered off pc and installed the card snugly into pci express slot. Plugged in the labeled "pci-e" power cable into the one 6 pin connecter on the video card. Powered on pc with monitor plugged into new video card. Nothing shows up on monitor. Pc doesn't post, there's no beep at all. Nothing shows up, no option to go into bios or anything.
So then I researched and found that u need to un install current video drivers which would be the drivers for integrated graphics on mobo, so I did that, (using the on board graphica) and I un installed everything that was there under programs and hardware manager. Tried the card again, still nothing doesn't post. Then I read that drivers could have been corrupted so reinstalled windows, tried card, nothing. Last thing I tried was resetting cmos jumper. Not sure if I did this correctly, I took off jumper and moved into clear position. Also turned computer on while in this position. Powered off and back on in normal position tried card still nothing. And also its worth noting that the card seems to turn on fan spins and everything, along with everything else, fans etc.

So is thing doa or is there something else I can try? Oh also went into bios and and disabled on board graphics, but I'm not exactly sure how to set it to the new card on default. Can't find any settings like that...

Thanks all!

i get what your saying, and that may be but its just weird that the card turns on, fans spin up and everything. and another thing, there isn't a whole lot in my system that draws alotta power, the most i think is the cpu which is 125w

anyway, just want to try everything before determining i need a better psu and/or replacement card

The CPU and the GPU are all that matter when figuring watts. 125w is alot for a CPU. If you could get another PSU to test it would be good. I wouldn't try another GPU because if the PSU were to go, these cheap-o units are likely to fry the GPU/CPU/motherboard/anything else.

The card doesn't suck more than like 20W power until it is under load, so that is some terrible advice, man. An underpowered PSU presents with blue screens or reboots while running a demanding game.

The Corsair is a much better power supply, but I would bet it isn't the issue with POSTing.

yeah, it sounds like to me the system starts up but the graphics card just wont dispaly what is coming to it...

once you get everythingback and you try to start make sure you have CLEAR YOUR CMOS though this may sound stupid it made my build start after upgrading

note: make sure that actually connected the gpu fully... maybe your case is too small and a tiny bit is not all the way in

i had tried doing that, though not sure if i did it right. correct me if im wrong but it's simply moving the jumper from normal position to clear and then back again right? does pc need to be turned on when you do this?

and yeah i got a mid-sized case so plenty of room, it was seated fully. clicked in and everything...

click on clear cmos there is a video that will walk you through it... and no dont do it while your computer is on always off and unplugged when you mess with it

also i think it may be your gpu was just defective because it started right after you installed it, do you have the old gpu to test it?

You seem to be doing everything correctly, you checked your bios, connected the 6-pin connector, everythings snug, its not the defective gpu or weak psu, maybe a defective mobo? pci-e slot may be damaged? try using your old gfx card and see what happens. Check ALL your cables again to see if it is in place, go back to bios and make sure it is running in pci-e slot and not integrated, check your southbridge connections, run through everything CAREFULLY, i remember something like that has happened to me before, and I missed the smallest thing and wouldn't run. I even checked many times. but I wasn't careful.

Well I just messed with a bunch of settings regarding pci-e slot in bios and the option for default video has 4 different options and I have no idea which one to choose... Think I'm just gonna run through each of them. Also, I have integrated graphics. Which keep in mind, I have to keep my monitor plugged in to that to even access the bios. Every time I change something in bios I have to unplug from integrated and back into video card to see if it made a difference. And what do you mean by my Southbridge connection? The thing is I'm not terribly familiar with all the settings in bios so I'm pretty much just winging it.

Southbridge connections will have info on your pci-e in some bioses, I don't think you have it, so for the 4 options you found can you name the options to me? Since you do have integrated you WILL have to find the option in the bios to change to pci-e graphics.

Sure no problem, the options are:
GFXO-GPP-IGFX-PCI
GPP-GFXO-IGFX-PCI
PCI-GFXO-GPP-IGFX
IGFX-GFXO-GPP-PCI

And those options are under "primary video controller"
