PC won't boot after installing new GPU

hello,
I recently purchased a new GTX 970 from an XFX Radeon 6670. After doing research, I discovered that before replacing a GPU it is good practice to uninstall all drivers and the enhancing software, which I was unaware of.
Now, I'm stuck with my pc, when powered on, my keyboard and mouse' lights flickering and nothing coming up on screen. I immediately tried putting back the 6670 but to my surprise even that won't work.

Admittedly I did rest the GPU backplate-down on my bed temporarily and I did not take any anti-static precautions. Worked on wooden floor.

I did not touch the motherboard, really.. And I have all power connectors connected to my 970..

Specs-
Board-MSI 970a-g46
Gpu(old)-XFX ATI RADEON 6670 1GB
GPU(new)-MSI GTX 970 100ME 4g
Processor-AMD fx 8320
Ram-2x8 ddr3 vengeance
Psu-corsair 850 watt
Hdd memory-1Tb

I have a technician coming in tomorrow but would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions that can aid us in troubleshooting.

Cheers.

Hello, I may be able to help you. What exactly comes up on your screen? \When you turn your pc on does the monitor change the display to a black blank background or does it not react? What PSU have you got? Disconnect all the power cables to your pc and pull out any peripherals like the mouse and keyboard, usb's, wireless adapters etc. and open the case up, make sure theres no power going to it and pull out the battery and hold the power button for 15 seconds and put the battery back in and try and start it up again. Could you do this and answer all the questions and if that does not work then I will then move onto another step to try! :)

put the old gpu back in

reset the cmos (see the motherboard instructions)

Same as with the new one, fans turn on, first LED on my MOBO enables, my keyboard and mouse's LEDs flicker and nothing appears on screen, it doesn't even turn on

Oh, good job! Don't know if you know but only uninstall the drivers if you are changing manufacturer e.g. amd to Nvidia. Which in your case you did! Enjoy the power of the 970! 😛 I am getting the 970 next month, is the MSI version good?
