Hello everyone,
I bought a new Amd a4 860K to replace my a6-7400K. I popped it in along with a new cryorig c7, which was a pain to install by the way, and turned it on. It started up, which sounded good, but then died. I tried putting in the old cpu. Same thing. I have checked the connections to the motherboard and they are all fine. All help is appreciated.

Did you reset the CMOS after changing the CPU each time? (Pull out the little button-cell battery and wait a bit, then re-insert).
Also, what PSU and GPU are you running? The 860k pulls an extra 30w or so, which may have put your PSU over the edge.

I am currently running a 430Watt EVGA bronze 80+

I did not try resetting the cmos! thank you will try that today!

Old cpu: Amd a6-7400k 3.5Ghz dual core processor
New cpu: Amd athlon x4 860k 3.7GHz quad core processor
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-A2A68HM-H
Memory: 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz Team Elite Plus
Storage: 1TB 7200RPM Hitachi Travelstar and 500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue 7200RPM
PSU: EVGA 430W 80+ Bronze
GPU: MSI GTX 1050ti 4GB

I agree with Jared, you probably need a new psu, What wattage is it?

I have an EVGA 430W Psu Bronze efficiency. I am also running a GeForce gtx 1050 ti. I don't think that the psu is the problem, because when I put the old cpu in it did the same thing.
