Hi,

I have a nightmare build: switched 3 mob 3 ram and cpu 🙁
right now I have this build:
rog z690 apex
i9-12900k
g.skill trident z5 rgb ddr5-6400 cl32 32g
rtx 3080

when I use both sticks I get a d6 q-code error and the pc wont boot when I put just 1 of the rams(no matter which slot) it post just fine
any idea?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

With one stick of ram, can you get into BIOS? Also, which slots are you populating? As for the boards were they all the same board of different brands/makes/models? You might want to also take the ram kit to a donor system(that's known to be working) to rule out your ram kit being the root of all the issues.

yes with 1 stick I can get to BIOS, in asus rog z690 APEX there are only 2 slots of ram both of them work fine when only one of them is populated.
all the bords were ASUS the first one was an HERO board which got a recall and latter two are APEX.
regrettably since its a ddr5 kit I don`t have a donor system

you are installing the dual channel kit correctly;
one module in DIMM slot A_2 & second in B_2?
and have you researched what this specific error code represents?

since the mother only has two slots for ram there is no wrong way,
d6 error is a console output error but I know the GPU is fine tested it on different PC and on the same system it works but only when I use just one stick

update: I took the CPU MOB and RAM sticks to the shop for testing

new update it worked just fine at the shop took it back to my home and ... it works! no idea how or why

OK so new update last it worked just fine I installed windows and shut down my PC
now I`m turning it on and its stuck in boot(blank screen) with asus qcode Ad
I have to say this really the worst build ever "thanks" ASUS

Qcode Ad could also inidicate a failure to display. Together with your initial d6 error, I Wonder if you could have something related to the way you connect your monitor.
Do you use an adapter or can you try another cable or connector from you PC ?
At the shop how did they connect to a monitor ?
