[SOLVED] pc wont post

okay... so i put together a pc with old parts.....(ancient, not used)....i want to use it as a linux box....
i press power, and everything is spinning (cpu fan, hd).....but nothing posts on screen. ive tried both mobos display ports (vga and dvi).... but... nothing...

please help, this pc has been gathering dust all summer

and yes i did pull the cmos battery and ram....

amd a10-6800
4gb ram corsair ddr3
psu..... nameless...400watts
mobo, asrock something
hd, 3.5" 250gb

The cpu has no integrated gpu and the motherboard has none too so you need a gpu to see the bios ie see anything.

Wouldn't get a very power hungry gpu as well seeing that you are using a psu we most likely would dump as trash.

Some cheap low power gpu. Would look used for an old system like that. Like AMD HD 5440 or Intel gt 210 stuff like that.

i fixed up another old pc and installed ubuntu... works great
