PC wont recognise new GPU

Ive just bought a XFX Raedon 7870 double black edition gpu, my motherboard is H6M1-DS2 DVI, mycomputer wont recognise it, y old GTX 560 worked fine, I was shown this one working? nyone any ideas in my BIOS all it says under graphics is PEG and IFSX or something like that... help

The problem may from the AMD and NVidia driver conflict,. Using the gtx560 and install the DDU to uninstall the NVidia driver and other GPU driver, shut down the PC, switch to the hd 7870, then boot the PC. If you can boot and reinstall the AMD driver.

Is there a BIOS update for your motherboard? I've heard of some new GPUs requiring a BIOS update on the motherboard before it'd recognise them.

ive tried updating my motherboard but It says it cant run on this PC, I cant install any drivers as in device manager it doesn't show my new gpu and I sold my gtx 560 ages ago and restored my computer back to factory settings

I have 102 updates for windows, would this be the cause?

Yes, do all the update, that may solve your problem. If that can't and you just use the onboard iGPU. Update the intel chipset driver or even the BIOS too, because the h61 chipset comes with the pcie controller driver too. And use it to uninstall the GPU driver.
