Solution
The computer should still be under warranty.
I recommend you return it to the seller.
Computers should not have problems after only four weeks of ownership.
Does it show any message about it safe to switch off, if yes, its software, check Acers website for any updates to your recovery software.

If not, then its either your psu or motherboard not sending/receiving a switch off signal, RMA to Acer and tell them that it happened within the 28 days replacement warranty period and that you have already reported it to support line, this will stop them insisting on a repair and not a new unit swapout.

Stick too your guns and don't accept a repair.

am so fed up rang the seller which was littlewoods they say they wont give me replacment till Acer say it is a hardware problem, Acer said they look at it but if its software problem they will charge me 90 pounds, will have to go along with what they say cos dont no anything bout pc's this is first time I ever used one, let alone understanding software and hardware

yes did system restore first time I reported problem to acer, but after a week same problem its so fustraiting cos it only happen's about once a week. anyway the story goes on acer took pc in for repair had it for 3 weeks said it was hardware problem on the report its got

mechanical- button broken
system fuction-system hang up
machanical-button stuck
system function-system auto shutdown

spare parts replaced
cover beszel front w/cbls quantity 1
ADX250OCK23GQ AMD ATHLON 11 X2 quantity 1

after a week had same problem rang acer pc is now on its way back to acer for second repair now promicing me it will be repaired this time. dont have a lot of faith in them
