Hi

My pc stopped starting after I updated the BIOS.
Today I updated the bios for the first time since I bought the motherboard in 2017. I want to sell my pc and therefore I wanted to update it.
I have a MSI PRO Carbon gaming motherboard so I went on msi support site and downloaded it onto a USB flash drive. I rebooted the pc and put the USB Drive back in the usb port. Then I went into the Flash drive mode in the BIOS and choose to update the BIOS
After it had installed I pulled out the flash drive and then the pc proceed to rebooted but when it turned back on again it went dirrect to a blue recovery screen. Short after I wasn't able to use my keyboard or mouse so I can't enter the BIOS.

MOBO: MSI Pro Carbon Gaming

GPU: 1060 6gb
PSU Corsair RMX550
SSD/BOOT drive: Samsung EVO 970 500gb
HDD: Seagate 1TB
RAM: Corsair vengance 16 gb 3200mhz
AIO cooler: Corsair H100i PRO
Case: Nzxt s340
Operating system: Windows 10

Hope there is help out there.
THX in advance and happy new year

go to page 39 of this manual:
https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/E7A63v1.0.zip
pdf is inside the zip file.

https://cn.msi.com/Motherboard/support/Z270-GAMING-PRO-CARBON#down-bios

there you can see on the picture, how to clear CMOS.

  1. Power off the computer and unplug the power cord
  2. Use a jumper cap to short JBAT1 for about 5-10 seconds.
  3. Remove the jumper cap from JBAT1.
  4. Plug the power cord and power on the computer.
instead of step 2 and 3, you can just use a screwdriver to short-circuit the jumper cap.

the jumper is under gpu slot (in your mobo) there's JBAT1 written near it.

don't forget to unplug the power cord first. not for your safety, to make CMOS forget its memory,
I got it to...

I got it to work again after an hour of research and trying many things. I reset the CMOS battery but that didn't work. Then I found out that it might boot from the wrong drive.
I went into the boot menu and choose the right and boom it worked.

But thank you so much for your answer.
