After buying a new Z170 Pro Gaming Motherboard, my PC wasn't starting. The fans spin for about 1 second then dies. I thought it was the power supply so i bought a new one, but the results are the same. Then I thought it was because of the CPU cooler which was kind of old and had only a 3 pin power adaptor and my mobo has 4 pin inputs. I tried everything, moving the RAM to every slot possible, reseting the BIOS, checked and double checked all the cables, everything is the way it should be, but the PC won't start up. And I also took the mobo to the retailer for the insurance and he said that everything is okay with it and sent it back...
My specs: GPU- GTX 970 Strix OC edition
PCU- I7 2600k
RAM- 8GB DDR4 2666 Mhz
PSU- Segotep 80 plus Gold 800W (new one)- Thermaltake 750W (old one)
HDD- 750GB

change the CPU..... this is a very handy tool to make sure the parts you are getting are all compatible...

no problem, happy to help...

You need a z68 board or a z77 either get one of those two boards along with ddr3 memory. Or you can always pick up a new cpu to match the current board.
