I'm in the process of acquiring hardware for new system build which includes a ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 ti Twin Edge OC LHR 8GB GDDR6 GPU, which I received yesterday. The issue is that I installed the 3060 ti into my current 5-year-old system (specs below) to take the GPU for a test drive, but once installed my PC refused to turn on, no fans, no nothing. LEDs on the motherboard were lit, but the GPU showed no signs of life.
I pulled out the 3060 ti and put my current 1080 GPU back in and everything's working fine again.
The 3060 ti takes a single 8-pin PCIe connector, which I dutifully attached (my older 1080 requires both an 8 pin and 6 pin connector). I can't figure out what's going on. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Current configuration:
Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.30 GHz
ASUS X99-A Motherboard / Crystal Sound 2 audio
32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200)
ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 8GB ROG STRIX
Monitor: BenQ PD3200U, 3840x2160
EVGA SuperNOVA 850 B2 110-B2-0850-V1 80+ BRONZE 850W Power Supply
Windows 10 Home v2004 OS build 19043.1288 v21H1
