I've installed a Shuttle PC12 6-in-1 card reader into a SN41G2 but the
device just gets installed as an unknown device under windows xp sp2!

Anybody know what could be wrong or is the card reader broken?

Thanks

Maybe a service or two is disabled? Some basic info on service cfg here:
http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm

I needed to download some pictures from a digital camera on my sister-in-law's
computer for CD burning. I recall having to start something which had been
disabled in order for the camera to be recognized, but I'm afraid that's all I
remember...

I am having this problem too.

I tried playign around with services with no luck.

Did anyone else know what could be wrong?

Thank You in advance!

Thanks for the reply John!

Just to check, were you running SP2 as well.

Also did you delete the device from device manager after removing it?

I did delete it from the device mananger. I was running SP1. Also found that
XP didn't like the mother board drivers I downloaded it from microsoft
updates. I went to SP2 it worked most of the time.

Went to an Adaptec floppy/card reader only had issues with getting the
drivers in XP to work. After that it works.
