I just got Windows 10 Pro 64 bit and I find that my ASUS PCE-N53 isn't showing any 5g internet sources. I know that I have a 5g source because my phone is able to connect to it and my computer used to be able to connect to it. On the ASUS website it says that it will automatically install those updates and should be working fine.

Is it a software problem or a hardware problem and how do I fix it?

I am considering uninstalling all of the software for it and physically taking it out and putting it back in.

NOTE: Channel 40 did NOT answer my problems, with almost EXACTLY the same hardware/software environment and issues~!

Problem started with:
Win10-Pro (fresh install) using Default driver (THIS was the problem - read on) using --
ASUS PCE-N53 PCI-E Adapter Dual-band Wireless-N600
(a misnomer, it is capable only of 300Mbps in either 2.4/5 GHz)
I did NOT install the software/drivers from the disc, due to conflicting information I read prior to installing the WiFi card..

My FIX was simple:
In Device Manager I updated the Default driver -- And VOILA~!

I am now able to Detect 5G Networks~!

Note that the driver installed was:

Media Tek, Inc. version: 5.0.57.0

Both work for me and thanks!
