My younger kid brother bought a GTX 1060. With my minimal knowledge of installing computer parts, I helped him install his new PSU and then when we went to install the GPU afterwards. We realized that there was a connection that looks like it goes to the power, USB, mic, etc interface on the face of the case. The issue is this connection comes up perpendicular to the mother board and sits directly behind the massive GPU and does not allow it to lay into the port.
The question is, would a PCI-e ribbon connect work at this location so we can move the GPU elsewhere. I was specifically looking this this one:
