so im gonna buy the asrock 970 extreme3 and the asus r9 270x 2gb edition but the gpu has a 3rd generation slot and the motherboard a 2nd generation slot, will they fit or not because i cant find any motherboards that has 3rd generation slot and accepts amd prossesors :/

Solution
Fatal1ty 990FX Killer has pci-e 3.0, mby some other top boards.
Ofc 3.0(it's kinda feature, like 3.0usb works with 2.0 slots) card will work with pci-e 2.0. Performance difference is really low(mby 1-2%), atm gpus r not that powerful to take full advantage of pci-e 3.0. And if u go with amd u dont need high priced board either, coz if u want faster pc u go with intel + high overclock, not amd. So dont bother overpaying, just buy 2.0 board that fits your needs(crossfire for example) and be ok with it :)

P.s. also, i'd better go with gtx 760 instead, dunno about pricing in your country though. the only game that benefits from r9 is company of h 2. so if u dont play this game u'd better go with gtx 760. more stable drivers, more...

50$ difference but u will get the advantage of smoother gameplay at 1080p. I mean u can spend 209$ and get a bit laggy card, but u can spend 259$ and get a card that can handle every game mostly.
