pci express 2.0 x16 and pci express x16

guys i have a question
i got msi r4890 cyclone and its pci express 2.0 x16
and the motherboard that i want too buy is pci express x16
is it gonna work on that ?

Definitely will work. Both the MB and the GPU both are PCIe 2.0 x16 compatible. The MB has one PCIe 2.0 x16, slot.
