I am going to be upgrading from a GTX 950 to a 1050 ti 2gb, but the thing is the 950 says it is PCI Express 3.0 x16 and the 1050 ti 4gb says its PCI express 3.0, am I going to have a problem?

Solution

same thing

mostly a sidegrade, jump up to a rx 470/rx 570 or better for an actual upgrade

if you cant afford it, save more

really not worth the hassle

ok, thank you, but I am getting the GTX 1050 ti 4gb sc, i know those are better cards but with my current CPU, It would bottleneck and I dont have enough money at the moment to go from AMD to Intel. buying a new MOBO, Ram, and CPU.

amd is also an option, heard o ryzen?

anyways, if your setup is that weak I doubt a 1050 ti would offer any kind of noticeable increase in fps

even more of a waste of money

it isnt weak, and I forgot that my CPU wont bottleneck a 470, since is designed that way, but, I just dont like AMD, I will see a noticable increase in FPS with my CPU GPU combo, in comparison, DOOM on the 950 low - medium 1080p 60, on the 950 however, with my CPU, 1050 TI 4gb SC can do Ultra 70-90 at 1080p, i think there will be a noticeable increase.

ultra 1080p ~70 fps average

this is if your setup does not bottleneck it

the 950 should do 50 - 60 fps medium/high settings

It does do medium high, I was mistaken, and now that I am looking at it the 1050 does 60 - 90 on ultra. And it wont bottleneck, I have done research, I do research on every part I get for my PC before i get it, 950 was temp, Just wanting a slight upgrade. anyways thanks for answering the question, although I see a video by Linus that explains it in less time then it took to type the post and you respond, but thanks anyways.
