People here are missing the point.......this bandwidth is not for video graphics alone.....I agree that if you crossfire 2 or even quadfire 4 780 tis, ull barely eat up the 3.0 bandwidth....but this technology is for the near future.....The industry is pushing for 4K resolution.....in that stage a crossfire of 980s (volta) will probably be bottle-necked by pcie 3.0...and the biggest factor is bandwidth sharing between emerging devices such as SSD...u will have ssd 3.2 next year which will take 2GB/s from this bandwidth......There can never be too much speed or bandwidth...... :))) Limits are being pushed, hence technology is being updated......2015-2016 will be exciting.......
